FAQ
Common questions
What is the eTenders portal?
eTenders.gov.za is the National Treasury's official electronic procurement portal, launched in 2016. It publishes adverts, appointment notices, and award data for most national and provincial departments and a growing number of municipalities and SOEs. You need a free eTenders account to download bid documents and upload responses.
How is ProTenders different?
ProTenders is a discovery layer on top of eTenders. We sync from eTenders daily and add coverage from municipalities, SOEs, and other government sources eTenders does not always cover. We also add what eTenders lacks: keyword alerts, saved searches, value and deadline filters, mobile-first design, and a workspace for your team.
Is ProTenders free?
Yes for Discovery. Search, browse, save, and one daily alert are free. Pro adds 3x daily alerts. Business adds team workspace and supplier intelligence.
Where do I submit my bid?
Always on the official channel named in the tender notice, usually eTenders.gov.za, the buyer's website, or a sealed-tender drop point. ProTenders is for discovery and pipeline tracking; submissions go through the statutory route.
